Welcome aboard!

We’re so glad you’re here! This is your field guide to settling in and making your mark from day one.

A welcome from David

Hear it from our CEO.

Where it started

A century of controlled movement.

Pilates began with Joseph Pilates — a German-born nurse and anatomist who, while rehabilitating injured soldiers during WWI, rigged springs to hospital beds. That idea became the reformer, and his method — controlled movement, balance, body awareness — is the practice taught in every studio today.

He called it Contrology — controlled movement, balance, and body awareness.
Joseph Pilates · New York City · 1926
The method
1883Joseph Pilates is born in Germany — a sickly child who trains his way past asthma and rickets.
1912Moves to England, working as a boxer, circus performer and self-defense trainer at Scotland Yard.
1910sInterned during WWI, he rigs bed springs into resistance equipment — and develops his method, Contrology.
1926Joseph & Clara open their NYC studio; dancers and performers take to it.
1934He publishes Your Health, followed by Return to Life Through Contrology in 1945.
1967Joseph Pilates dies; his students carry the method forward.

How we got here

From four studios to a national platform.

It started with David Schuck — our Founder and CEO — and six Club Pilates licenses in North Carolina, built on a track record of success with Liberty Tax.

From four built studios in FY20, the business has grown to over 170 today — through a steady mix of acquisitions and new builds, with open studios posting strong double-digit organic growth.

The time clock

Hourly team members and GMs punch in and out on the Paycor time clock at the studio. It takes a few seconds once you know the sequence.

First time?
Your default PIN is 1234.
You’ll be prompted to create your own PIN immediately after your first login.
Clocking in
1

Enter your badge number. Type your assigned employee badge number into the Badge Number field.

2

Enter your PIN. First-timers use 1234 and set a new PIN right away.

3

Click Login. That takes you to the Employee Self Service screen.

Choosing your allocation
1

Punch. The clock shows the current time — tap Punch to start your clock-in or clock-out.

2

Say where you are. Status Type is Auto, so the system works out whether you’re coming or going. Activity Type is always Work. Then set your Department and Work Location.

3

Submit. A green confirmation appears with your timestamp and studio name.

Department and Work Location must match the studio you’re physically standing in — not your home studio.
Reporting a missed punch
1

Click “Report a Missed Punch.” It sits on the main time clock screen, below the Punch button.

2

Enter the date and time you actually worked.

3

Select In or Out — whether this was a clock-in or a clock-out.

4

Set Department and Work Location to the studio you were physically at.

5

Submit. Add a Punch Note if it needs explaining. Every request goes to your General Manager for review and approval.

Checking your time card
1

Open the Paycor app on your phone.

2

Tap Time Card from the home screen.

3

Tap View Time Card to open the current pay period.

4

Check your totals. Daily hours are listed out, with logged days highlighted.

Worth a look before the pay period closes — a missing punch is much easier to fix early.
Quick reference

Default PIN

First-time PIN is 1234 — change it on first login.

Status Type

Always Auto. The system detects in or out.

Activity Type

Always Work — no other option applies.

Location

Department matches Work Location, and both match your studio.

Missed punch

Report a Missed Punch → your GM approves it.
